Services Provided: Site investigation Scope development and value engineering. Civils and Building Design Construction
Scope: Construction of a complete new HV electricity substation compound including all site infrastructure and a building to house ABB’s new Gas Insulated Switchgear equipment. Scope includes the foundations , piling, structural steelwork and cladding, block work, internal finishes, M&E and crane installation, drainage, roads, electrified fencing and final external reinstatement. Works undertaken in several phases in line with the installation of the Switchgear inside and the cabling works outside of the building. The project received high commendations from both SSE and ABB.
Unusual aspects: Switchgear installed on insitu concrete 1st floor only. High water table poor quality ground. Access through adjacent live HV substation only
