Having trained as a quantity surveyor with Norwest Holst Ltd and attained a BSC in Quantity Surveying, Rob joined Alpha Construction Ltd in 1984.

As the company's first Quantity Surveyor Rob dealt with all of the company's contract commercial duties. Over the years Rob has been a key team member on all of Alpha's major projects, this close involvement on these schemes has culminated in Alpha increasing the number of clients that return to Alpha with repeat business.

In 1995 Rob became Commercial Director, a role that he maintained up to his appointment as Managing Director in 2007.
